It’s the only awards show in which actors vote solely for actors!
The celebrated 2015 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards® will air live on the TNT and TBS Television Networks in the U.S. on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 (8-10p ET). Established as one of the world’s premier film and television awards show events, the SAG Awards promises an unforgettable evening of laughter, surprises, drama and excitement – not to mention the world’s biggest stars.
Lauded by critics for its style, simplicity and genuine warmth, the SAG Awards focus on both individual performances as well as on the work of the entire ensemble of a television series and the cast of a motion picture. These awards are fundamental to the spirit of the SAG Awards because they recognize what all actors know – that acting is a collaborative art.
The most recent show (Jan. 18, 2014) was an enchanting affair that delivered some of its best ratings in the Adult 18-49 demo in recent years. Among those honored at the 2014 event were Matthew McConaughey (“Dallas Buyers Club”), Cate Blanchett (“Blue Jasmine”), Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”) and Maggie Smith (“Downton Abbey”). The Actor® for a motion picture cast performance went to “American Hustle,” while the Actors® for television drama and comedy ensemble performances went this year to “Breaking Bad” and “Modern Family.”
Additionally, the event included appearances by Amy Adams, Ben Affleck, Sasha Alexander, Don Cheadle, Bradley Cooper, Benedict Cumberbatch, Matt Damon, Robert DeNiro, Chiwetel Ejifor, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Garner, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Lawrence, Jared Leto, Kevin Spacey, Kerry Washington, Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, James Marsden, Ewan McGregor, Lupita Nyong’o, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Emma Thompson, Tina Fey, John Goodman, Josh Holloway, and Jeremy Renner.
